NAME...Cloudkit||Cloudpaw||Cloudclaw||Cloudstar
AGE... 39 moons
GENDER... Male
CLAN... LeopardClan
POSITION... Warrior
SPECIES... Snow Leopard
APPEARANCE...If you stood Cloudclaw next to other snow leopards, he wouldn't look necessarily extraordinary. In fact, Cloudclaw is a touch on the small side for a male leopard, a bit shorter than the others and not quite as muscular. It doesn't bother him much though, he's content with his size. His pelt is a beautiful snowy white-silver, touched around the underbelly with hints of tan. Dappling his pelt are dark spots, the trademark of his kind. The spots are smaller around his head and gradually increase in size as they travel along his body, found to be their largest on his fluffy plume of a tail. His ears, alert and well shaped, are rimmed in a thin line of black and faint black lines touch the inner corners of his eyes. They're not as pronounced as the tear stripes found on cheetahs and tigers, but they're visible if you look at his face closely enough. Large paws with dense fur between his toes make Cloudclaw a silent hunter and give him a great advantage in deep snow and ice. Year-round, his pelt is thick but thanks to the lighter coloration, he manages to tolerate warmer days as long as he's not expected to sprint long distances. The last part of Cloudclaw is his eyes. They're a very light shade of yellow, almost silver in their lightness. At night, his eyes are more pronounced but during the day, they're barely noticed on the paleness of his pelt.
PERSONALITY...Cloudclaw is a bit of a loner. He doesn't dabble in the social side of clan life very often, favoring to keep to himself. He's a keen observer that often shakes his head at the nonsense of clan life, but enjoys it well enough. In truth, Cloudclaw is a cat that would like to be around but not be seen. He enjoys absorbing the playfulness of his clanmates when watching them wrestle or talk, but has little to say for himself. He's a shy, quiet male that spends his days hunting and his nights, when he can, aimlessly wandering the territory. Cloudclaw has a dreamer's mind, always thinking miles ahead of others, often not paying attention and caught off guard when he finds out someone's talking to him. In addition, he's graceful when he hunts or runs but when females talk to him, he tends to get clumsy. When males challenge him, he begins to stutter and becomes unsure of himself, backing down quickly and muttering apologies. He doesn't like being this way, in fact he hates it, but his weak confidence gives out on him when he tries to make a stand. Since he was a kit, Cloudclaw dreamed of being a deputy but knows that unless he sorts himself out, he'll never make it. It's a dream he holds on to, even though he doubts he'll ever get it.
An intelligent feline, Cloudclaw will go behind someone's back if he has to, in order to do what he thinks is right. If asked for his opinion though, he bites his tongue and clams up, seeming to accept whatever everyone else wants. His friends think it's silly but Cloudclaw simply can't seem to disagree with anyone. So, he goes off alone and entertains his own thoughts in his mind where no one can question them. He ponders strategies, thinks about the old lore, his clan and the politics of it all without anyone to intrude and chase those thoughts away. In fact, this distant persona is why his mother named him Cloudkit, becuase he's as distant as a cloud and often has his head stuck in them.
HISTORY...Born to Whiteheart and Silverpatch, loyal LeopardClan warriors, Cloudclaw came from a small litter. The litter consisted of himself and his brother, Thornkit. For the first several moons of his life, Cloudkit and Thornkit were together all the time, no matter what was going on. They played together, told stories, tormented elders, tried to sneak out of the nursery, the whole nine yards. His parents, though exasperated with the twins, indulged them more often than not because they were just kits being kits. This was back when Cloudkit believed he could do anything, jump any hurdle, fight any enemy. His brother bolstered his confidence, constantly following along for the ride with a grin on his maw and a light in his eyes. This all changed when Cloudkit was about four and a half moons old.
The pair wanted to surprise their mother, Whiteheart, so they decided to go hunting at night and bring back something for her in the morning. They went out and decided to try fishing after hunting mice and rabbits didn't turn up any kills. The pair made their way to a river and, close to the bank, Cloudkit pounced on his brother to play a little because the thrill of hunting and being out at night had his blood pumping. The pair wrestled and tumbled through the brush, unaware that they were close to danger. They tumbled off a cliff over the river, too caught up in their fight and bantering to notice their closeness to it.
Cloudkit lost sight of his brother and blacked out. When he woke, he was tangled in reeds and water plants near the bank. Thornkit was nowhere in sight and a search party found him soon after. Weak and shaking, he let himself be taken back to camp. It was three days before the shock wore off and he realized that Thornkit had never been found. As a result, his confidence crumbled and he became a strict follower of the rules. He began to second guess his decisions, afraid to speak his mind or voice ideas, fearing they would end in disaster. At six moons of age, he was apprenticed to a burly tom named Longwhisker and had a fairly normal apprenticeship due to his fear of rule breaking and his tendency to always go with safe, normal choices with few risks. He became a top hunter and master climber by the time he recieved his warrior name of Cloudclaw.
