NAME... Lorelei (born as Ivykit)
AGE... Twenty four moons
GENDER... Female
CLAN... Loner (born into Leopardclan, will rejoin)
POSITION... Loner
SPECIES... Amur Leopard
APPEARANCE...Lorelei is a rather lovely leopardess. Her body is perfectly proportioned to leave her looking rather like a giant house cat, and not just your average house cat but one of top show quality. Her body appears bulky from an outside glance, however she is rather small at a relatively tiny fifty seven pounds. When her size is taken into account and she is placed next to a larger leopard, she actually looks rather dainty and delicate. The most striking part of this leopard is her eyes - a medium green that matches the green of the lighter shades of polished and cut emeralds.
The rosettes on her coat are those traditional of an Amur leopard, being relatively well spaced with thick rings and darker fur within their centers. Her coat color is the classic sandy cream color of most Amur leopards, though in darker light it appears tinged with the orange of your average Bengal tiger along her back and around her nose and forehead. Her underbelly, throat, chin and the fur around her paw pads is all an off-white color, not quite cream but not quite snowy either. There are a few of these hairs sticking out of her ears as well. The tufts in her ears are long, as are her cream colored whiskers. Her nose is brown with a dusting of black faded over portions of it.
PERSONALITY...Lorelei is a rather gentle creature. She knows how to fight and how to hunt, and is quite extraordinary at both despite her small stature. However, despite this, she greatly dislikes both. She will hunt only as much as needed, and will protect what remains after a meal in order to eat it once she is hungry again so as to not be wasteful of the life she took. She will avoid fighting at all costs, only fighting back if she is attacked first, and never a moment sooner. When she takes a life, whether it be prey or an enemy, she will take a moment, even in the heat of battle, to look into their eyes as they die, longing to see that moment where they come to peace with it. If she doesn't see this, for any reason, she tends to react rather poorly and mourn the loss as she would if she lost a blood relative she was close to.
Some describe her as a shy beast, and she almost seems the part. She hangs around the outskirts more than she needs to and she doesn't always talk often when she meets others for the first time. However, labeling this as shyness is a mistake. She's just soft-spoken. She won't say anything unless she has to speak. She doesn't add on unnecessary details. Of course, this doesn't mean she's always honest. If she has to lie to protect your feelings, she will. She can't stand seeing others hurt and will gladly take on the pain herself if it saves you from experiencing it. She goes out of her way to be kind and thoughtful, even if it makes her life harder.
This isn't to say she isn't confidant; she is exceptionally confidant. It shows within her stride, her head carriage, the soft but sturdy tone to her voice. It is never prideful, as she's always been a modest feline, but it is undeniably confidant. Even her broken heart couldn't shake that. She jumps into everything headfirst, happy to figure it out on the way. The only thing Cadell's betrayal did to her was make her more cautious on the front of love. Cautious to the point of being it to a dead stop. Things get romantic or lovey-dovey, and she backs away, the confidence faltering into a stuttering mess as she tries to come up with an excuse to leave and put an end to things. Go slow with her and you'll get further, but don't expect instant trust. She hides it well, but she's too broken for that. At least for now.
HISTORY...There was once a small leopard cub, the only one born of the litter. There were no stillborns, no siblings that died. Just the tiny leopardess with startling green eyes. As soon as they opened, she was dubbed Ivykit. She was a quiet cub, never cried too much or too loud. She wasn't shy at all, just soft-spoken. She was five and a half moons old when her world was turned upside down.
There was a wicked storm that tore through Leopardclan territory. She had been out of the nursery when it began and she stumbled around aimlessly, trying desperately to find her way back to the nursery. However, the rain was too heavy and the wind too strong. She could not see and could not hear. She wandered right out of the camp, searching blindly. Fifteen minutes later, she slipped and fell into the river, hit her head on a rock and blacked out. Back at the clan, most would assume her dead after a search of the territory, though no ceremony was held just in case.
When she woke up, she was far from her clan and she didn't remember a thing. Not knowing who she was or where she was from, she set out crying quietly, but it slowly grew in loudness. Eventually, it attracted a female bobcat, by the name of Cora, who had just had a litter of stillborns just a day before. The bobcat took Ivykit in as her own, naming her Lorelei. The leopardess grew up strong, forming new memories and learning how to hunt and fight from her pseudo-mother. She always knew she was adopted - after all, she looked markedly different. Of course, Cora did not know where she came from either. Nonetheless, Lorelei had heard of Leopardclan. She kept trying to muster up her courage to find them, but it would take moons to find it.
She split from Cora at twelve moons of age. It was a mere two moons later when she met the handsome Cadell. It was a whirlwind romance in most aspects. They became inseparable for the next eight moons, when it fractured apart. He had betrayed her with a few other leopardesses on the side, had kits with them. Just like he was trying to get her to bear his kits. Needless to say, the larger male learned not to mess with the little female. He now dons a claw mark across his eye, and has lost sight in it as well. It has been two moons since and she's been fighting to get her life back now that her heart has been shattered into a million pieces. Trying to find something to live for again, Lorelei has set off to find Leopardclan, hoping she might find a home there.
