JUST STAND AND BE STRONG
AND THEN FIGHT LIKE A GIRL
NAME... Goldenpelt
AGE... 30 moons
GENDER... Female
CLAN... Lionclan
POSITION... Queen (Warrior)
SPECIES... Lion
APPEARANCE...True to the name given to her at birth, Goldenpelt has a coat of shimmering, rich golden browns and light oranges. As she moves, her pelt ripples and gleams in an eye-catching pattern that has a habit of turning heads. Her beautifully shining coat has only improved with her pregnancy, making her nearly glow in the proper sunlight and glisten like a drop of sunshine. Her creamy chest and tipped tail are a nice contrast with the darker, almost blackish dark brown lowlights to her warm fur, giving her a beautiful, stark contrast that not only plays a role as a wonderful camouflage, but works to her advantage during those times she needs her looks to really go for her.
Stocky and built, Goldenpelt is a bit of an overbearing presence before you really get to know her personality. For a female she's large and thick, though not unattractively so. While her coloring is certainly the most attractive physical feature about her, she wears her weight well and doesn't give a second thought to the fact she's a good four-seven inches taller than most females and about 1.5 times heavier. She uses her size and weight to her advantage at all stops, and with the added weight of her pregnancy, Goldenpelt is certainly a big cat that you don't want to plop down on you while your back is turned, otherwise her weight alone, without her daggerish, black claws, could cause some serious damage.
PERSONALITY...Before she was pregnant and therefore rather hormonal, Goldenpelt was a generally nice she-lion, though a bit territorial and touchy. Now, however, she has unborn little ones to think about and is typically a very moody, somewhat aggressive creature that only trusts those that have earned it and has stopped trusting anyone else. After her babies are born she's sure to go back to her normal happy, caring self, but so long as she carries her young with her, she's a force to be reckoned with that has a grouchy wild side that tends to repel anyone that doesn't understand that it's simply her hormones, and not who she really is.
The only exception to this is, of course, kits. When just about any other lion approaches her, female or not, Goldenpelt will probably verbally lash out first and think about being civil later. However, with youngsters, her maternal instincts are on high and she'd protect and cuddle any young lion in a heartbeat. She would fight for a young one just as quickly and fiercely as she'd fight for her clan, and in fact often things of the young ones when she is called upon to fight. She views kits and apprentices as the future of the clan, and the true priority to protect in times of need.
She's loyal to the last breath, though whom it is her loyalties lie with will will change with the circumstances. Her intentions are always, always to protect the clan - though the means she goes through may not necessarily be the same as other clan members. She's honest to a fault, often taking the hard, blunt truth over sugar-coated niceties. This not only makes it easier on her, but makes it impossible to misunderstand her, since she absolutely hates having to repeat herself. Goldenpelt feels that if someone isn't worth the truth, she has no business talking to them. To anyone who does, they deserve more than lies and will give her honest opinion, regardless of what it is about, who she's talking to, and the consequences that truth may bring down on her.
HISTORY...Born the third of five cubs, Goldenpelt was the only female given to Cloudfur and Stormclaw. While the deputy and warrior were an unlikely match, the two were happy and very excited about their first litter of kits. As she wanted daughters, Goldenkit was instantly Cloudfur's favorite, though she did love her four sons very much as well. Stormclaw didn't choose favorites; he was just happy he had healthy cubs that looked like they would grow up fine and healthy, able to service their clan in whatever way their particular talents allowed.
At six months, all five cubs had survived and were thriving. As she was raised around all males, Goldenkit was quite the tough little kit, able to hold her own in spars with her siblings and even other cubs. She was still her mother's ideal daughter, since not only was she a talented fighter, but she wasn't all boyish and was really quite the momma's girl. Goldenkit was classy and beautiful, everything her mother had hoped she would be, traits she's carried with her through her life. When she became an apprentice to a warrior, Goldenpelt was pleased that her mentor was another female, yet another example in her life of the strength that females had and that they could be rough and tough just like the males. She was taught not only to be physically strong, but also mentally and emotionally. Clan life was tough sometimes, and if she couldn't handle it, she was no good to anyone. Goldenpelt needed to be just as mentally quick as she was physically, and she trained for moons to be exactly what her mentor expected of her.
Just a quarter-moon before she and her brothers were to be put in their places in the pack and leave apprenticeship, a tragedy befell them. While taking time out, Goldenpelt and two of her brothers, Yellowpaw and Thunderpaw, stumbled upon the den of a mother bear and her three cubs. Caught unaware, the large creature attacked, protecting her cubs. Yellowpaw was killed in the attack, and both Thundertuft and Goldenpelt were injured, though they got back home alive. While they recuperated in the medicine cat's den, Thundertuft was struck with a horrible bought of greencough, and was not given catmint in time. He died of the infection only a day after the attack.
When she was recovered, Goldenpelt wasn't quite the same. Yellowpaw and Thundertuft were her favorite of her four brothers, and she wasn't sure how to react to being down two siblings. Her parents were also very distraught, and at the loss of two young apprentices, the entire clan had a few days of mourning. At last Goldenpelt got a hold of herself and remembered her training; she needed to be strong, not only physically but also mentally and emotionally. She and her brothers had made a mistake, and they'd paid gravely for it. But from here on out, she refused to be caught unawares like that again, and the only way to do that was move forward and stop living in the past. She graduated from apprenticehood and became a warrior of Lionclan. Soon after she fell for another member of the clan, and is now carrying his cubs.
