I'M THE GIRL YOU NEVER GET JUST QUITE WHAT YOU SEE
NAME... Riversplash
AGE... 43 moons
GENDER... Female
CLAN... Lionclan
POSITION... Warrior
SPECIES... West African Lion
APPEARANCE...Typical of the breed of her ancestors, Riversplash has short, light fur the color of grasses and light bark. She is virtually patternless, though she has splotches of slightly darker fur in places on her upper body. Her belly, the inside of each legs, and the bottom of her neck up to her chin are a pure, snowy white color that sometimes is a curse and sometimes a blessing, when it comes to camouflaging herself.
She is small and lithe, her limbs being graceful and well-muscled. With each step, her skin is pulled taunt over her frame, giving her the appearance of a cat that has little muscle and fat, though the opposite is true. She is small, yes, but not in any way is she lacking in bulky muscle. Riversplash's main muscle is in her back legs and her back, front legs being more slender and attractive, leading into rather large paws that suggest she should have been bigger. In fact, her growth was stunted as an apprentice when she fell ill. Her tail is also a little disproportional to her body, seeming a little too long to fit her.
She has a young, kit-like glow in her eyes that express her spirit to the world as a vibrant feline who will always look and act young for her age. Very unusual for her species, Riversplash has icy blue eyes - the very reason for her name. They are almost exactly the color of a river during winter, and they tend to bring attention to her very often. They add an almost ethereal beauty to her when hit by the proper light.
PERSONALITY...Minimum of 100 words. For anyone that meets her, it is absolutely impossible not to love Riversplash. While she's fully grown and just under four years old, Riversplash has always been, and will always be, a kit at heart. She is all energy and smiles, capable of sauntering into anyone's life and brightening their day immediately. A joker, it is nothing at all for River to cause a ripple of cheer and laughter in her tracks.
Though she is loyal and would never let her clan fall if she could help it, Riversplash is very curious - and often asks the wrong questions at the wrong time. She has no problem with authority and rarely has issues taking orders, but any time she is given one that she doesn't understand for whatever reason, she'll open her big mouth and ask right there. It typically gets her into trouble, but she can't help it; between brain and mouth, River has no filter whatsoever. When she has a question or a comment, she'll speak - even when she shouldn't. To some, this is a trait that is endearing and often the reason some felines give her the time of day. The fact that she isn't scared to be herself and voice her thoughts and opinions in a comedic way tends to draw others in, often having to remind themselves she isn't a baby.
As such, she tends to be argumentative. She rarely has negative tendencies or means to insult or annoy, but when she feels she's right, she feels it down to her bones and will either prove you wrong with facts or drive you so crazy you let her win just for the sake of not having to talk to her anymore. She's headstrong and has an iron-clad will, often being told she could argue with a rock and get her point across eventually. She has no arguments there, and feels sure that if the situation were to arise, she could prove everyone right on that account.
None too logical, River sometimes has issues with seeing the common sense of certain aspects. This she-cat gets so excited about things that she tends to think only of the means or the ending, but never both. Things are often said that go straight over her head, but she always finds a way to turn it into something comedic so she's never being laughed at - always laughed with. She loves to break down the barriers of others and show them what a beautiful world it is outside of their shell, and is the best friend you'll ever have.
HISTORY...Minimum of 100 words. Riversplash was born under very strange circumstances. Her mother had been a loner her whole life, abandoned by her own clan when she fell ill and there seemed no cure. However, a loner with knowledge about herbs and medicinal remedies happened by and restored her, saving her life. Ravenheart then continued on her way, making her life on her own.
Just after she turned 14 moons old, Ravenheart was attacked and force-bred by another lion. He was a rogue, half mad and utterly ruthless. He'd have killed her, had he not been run off by another, very well-timed loner happening by. But the damage had been done; Ravenheart became pregnant and birthed 3 very small, malnutritioned cubs. Strangest of all? They were born early, smack in the middle of winter during a blizzard. Only two survived the night, and one other grew ill, causing Ravenheart to abandon it; he would never have survived anyway. Her remaining cub she named Riversplash after the strange color of her eyes and the strange serenity that radiated from her.
Young, unable to care for a cub, and not wanting to to a mother anyway, Ravenheart lead her daughter to the boundaries of Lionclan and begged them to take in her kit. They agreed, though it took some coaxing on Ravenheart's part. She left, and never looked back.
Riversplash, on the other hand, grew healthy and strong within the borders of Lionclan. It took time, but she eventually began to gain weight and look much more normal, like the other clan kits. She played and enjoyed her life, never giving a second thought to the mother that couldn't care for her. She'd always wanted to be apprentice to the medicine cat, but someone was already in that slot; she settled for warrior, though she wasn't a big fan of the violence wars brought.
A couple moons after she took on her apprenticeship, River came down with an illness that the medicine cat had never seen before. It seemed she wouldn't survive, and indeed nearly died more than once. But by a miracle of Starclan, River survived - though not without a permanent reminder. She barely grew from that day forth, staying small and almost kit-like in appearance. Her body developed muscle fine, though length and height never really came to her after that. It's never bothered her much; River simply figured out how to use her size to her advantage and avoid letting others use it to theirs.
