She was mischievous, much like himself, but she had the tendency to cause a tad bit more trouble than he. After a few moments, Lightpaw rose to his feet, attention grabbed immediately by a bug buzzing overhead. Crouching down again, the young male sprung into the air, paws batting wildly at the buzzing insect. Panting with excitement now, he trotted after the insect, tail raised slightly. Once it came within reach, the cub reached out again with a paw and knocked the insect to the earth.
However, the detour from the flight path didn’t last long and the bug was soon back in the air, beating its wings, headed in a direction away from Lightpaw. Sighing heavily, he bounded after the insect, Hey! Come back here! Most would think he was rather insane, calling out to the insect to come back, but he didn’t care what anyone thought. He wanted to play with the creature some more until he could locate Ghostpaw. After a few more moments of the chase, the insect flew out of his reach once and for all, as if to make a mockery of his efforts to catch it.
Scowling and letting out a small growl, the male cub turned around and lowered his body close to the ground, pushing around with his nose in search for a less flighty insect to play with, his rump in the air, wiggling with every movement. With no luck after several long moments of searching, Lightpaw raised his head, face and nose smudged with the dirt he’d been digging around in. Now the impatience was beginning to set in, and he bounced back towards where most of the clan was, stumbling over his own to feet every now and again. Ghostpaw! He bellowed, as loudly as he could, not caring who he disturbed. Where had she gotten off to now?

She'd slipped out of camp at moonhigh, when everyone thought she was asleep. It hadn't been difficult, she knew all the gaps between the guards and which would be the best place to sneak out based on who was watching and where they were watching. This time, of course, hadn't been for anything crazy. She'd just needed out of camp to get some fresh air, on her own. She'd wandered much of the territory, returning just before the sun began to rise, content and tired. She'd slipped into her spot among the others, curled up and promptly fallen asleep.
She would have kept sleeping, too, had it not been for the sudden yell. Her eyes shot open, her paws scrambling to get her upright and just sending her tumbling everywhere for a few moments before she finally got them under her and stood up, mind instantly shooting to the thought it was her mentor and that she was late for a training session she'd forgotten about, or that she was in trouble. Then, after a frantic glance around during which she didn't spot her mentor, she spotted Lightpaw and realized it must have been him. She growled softly at the thought he'd woken her up, but she left it be, forgetting it quickly like she tended to do, and she trotted over quietly, leaping to hopefully land on his back with a playful growl.
Gotchu!
She cried, annoyance forgotten in an instant, eyes alight with amusement, ears flattened back in fake anger, like they would be in a practice battle, her long tail whipping side to side as she let herself fall away and tumble to the ground, landing on her back with a soft, but sudden exhalation of air from the impact before she rolled away a bit, caught her breath and set into a fit of giggling.

Lightpaw let out a playful growl in her direction before pouncing, intending to pin her to the ground. Her giggling was infectious, causing the male cub to fall into a giggling mess as well before reaching out and striking her lightly on the shoulder before crying out, Tag, you’re it! Before the words were even fully released from his mouth, the king cheetah cub leapt to his feet and struck out in a run, sliding behind a rock once he was out of her view. Stifling his heavy breathing and the giggles that threatened to give away his hiding spot, he remained crouched behind the rock, waiting to see if she would find him.
The anticipation was killer, but this was one of his favorite games to play with the other young cheetah. They were two of the fastest cubs in the clan, and because of this fact, it wasn’t as fun to play the game of mixed tag and hide and go seek with anyone besides Ghostpaw. Flicking his ears about on his head, he listened for any sign that she was nearby. Any slight shuffling noise or the almost silent sound of a twig or a leaf being kicked over by clumsy young paws.
Refusing to move from behind his rock, he tuned his ears forward, still hoping to catch some type of tell-tale sign as to where she was at this moment. Though when he heard nothing, he tilted his head slightly, wondering where she’d gone off to. Normally she’d have found him by now. Pinning his ears back, the male cub poked his head up ever so slightly to gaze out from his hiding spot. Scanning the area quickly, he found no sign of the other cub anywhere. Poking his head up a bit more, he looked about the area again and knit his ‘eyebrows’ together in confusion. Prancing out from his hiding spot, he let out a squeaking call for his friend in an attempt to find where exactly she had gotten off to, the idea that this was just a ploy to get him to reveal himself the last thing on his mind.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i51.tinypic.com/2zdu45l.jpg][scrolly:h(186),w(429),sy] She was laughed far too hard to even think of avoiding him as he moved to pin her; after all, this wasn't training, this was play. She didn't have to avoid him. Not that she even thought it through like that. No, she hadn't even bothered. Then there was that light paw tap on her shoulder, something she instantly knew was not part of their tousle at all, but a whole new game. Her eyes lit up at the prospect, scrambling up to her paws as fast as she could, but not fast enough to spot where he went off to hide. Of course, they'd grown and learned since they were kits in the nursery, so what did she do? SHe didn't go after him.
Now, don't think she didn't want to find him. She did. She just had a much brighter idea of how to do it now than she did then. She softly slinked off to crouch behind an older cheetah, one that was sleeping so that it wouldn't give anything away with an ear twitch. And, with ears flattened to her skull, she poked her head up ever so slightly, enough to see over the warrior's back, but not enough to stand out as a blatantly obvious second cat in the picture. Or, at least, she hoped. Zebras blended together after all, right? Why couldn't cheetahs do the same?
She didn't spot him as his head poked up, but then all of a sudden movement caught her eye; him flouncing out from behind the rock. Keeping to a low crouch, which was difficult with her long legs, she shuffled around behind various warriors and elders, who simply rolled their eyes at her and ignored her. After getting closer, and off to his side, she broke from her attempted cover and darted at him, not quite full speed so that she wouldn't collide and hurt him if he didn't spot her in time to dodge. Then, pulling closer, she leaped with a playful growl. He was hers! He'd be the one having to find her now!
Or, at least, that's what she thought. She never did think she could fail, even though it was definitely an option.
