I mean, honestly. The sun was shining, there was hardly a cloud in the sky, it wasn't too warm or too cold, and most importantly of all, it was her first day as an apprentice! Nothing could compare! Well, at least, not until she became a warrior -or if she got to be deputy or leader! She almost appeared to skip through grasses at the thought, so content that she was completely oblivious. Not that this was abnormal, of course. Ghostpaw had never been one to really focus - except to focus on driving everyone crazy of course, and that wasn't even a truly conscious effort at all.
She really should have been paying at least a little more attention, though, considering how close she was to the lionclan border. It always got a bit rocky here, and she'd never been particularly coordinated, not unless she wanted to be. And right now, she was too high from happiness to even care. There was another little skip and a hop which somehow seemed to suit her, despite her size and the fact it wasn't a very feline action, and then her paw caught on a rock. Things went into a downward spiral from there.
First, she stumbled in an attempt to catch her balance. She nearly managed to, but it was just a little too late and instead she went sprawling. With a soft squeak of a yelp, she curled into a ball as she fell, sending her into a head-over-paws somersault for a few feet until she finally came to a stop, splaying out on the ground in a rather awkward position. Her ears had flattened a bit as she cracked open one eye to see where she was and realized she was over the boundary line. The eye shut again quickly, and she gulped a moment before fully opening her eyes, still just laying there. It was uncomfortable, but she was still a bit stunned and not quite sure what the best thing to do was. Should she wait here for a lionclan member so they would know she honestly just fell over the line? Should she go back and pretend it never happened? Should she go tell a warrior and ask for advice? She wasn't sure. She did know one thing though; that had been a whole lot more fun than anticipated, and she'd definitely be trying it again soon.

It was the type of day that could put even the most pessimistic feline into the best mood of their life. Along the borders of the Lionclan’s lands, a young, white cub chased a small bird, giggling slightly to herself, oblivious to her surroundings. Adderpaw was the lionclan’s medicine cat apprentice, but to day was a free day for her, and she had chosen to go off in search of things that would help her practice what she had learned over the past few days. However, when the little chirping bird had landed nearby, Addi couldn’t help but follow the cheery little creature as it flitted here and there, as if it was just teasing her. Naturally, the curiosity of the cub side of her had taken over, and the white feline had taken off in a game of cat and mouse, if you will. Perhaps she should have paid more attention to where she was going, but within only a matter of seconds, she had become enthralled in the game she was playing with this flighty little bird.
Addi failed to notice how far she had strayed from where she had originally been searching for anything that would have helped her practice, but that was the farthest thing from her mind for now. With a small noise that sounded like a mix between a small roar and a squeak, the white cub leapt forward towards the bird, paws open wide, ready to catch it upon landing. As if aware of the plan, the little bird fluttered up towards the sky and out of Addi’s reach before finally flying away, as if to say it had grown bored of the game they had been playing. With a confused and slightly disappointed look coming across her face, she sat up with a sigh, Awh, man. Now what was she to do? Her adrenaline was still surging through her veins, and her desire to attempt to put to use what she had learned as of late was currently gone. Rising to her paws, gray eyes scanning the area in a search for something to do, she sighed again. Then, the sound of light scratching caught her larger ears, and she turned her head towards the origin of the sound. Tilting her head slightly, Addi moved slowly towards the area of the noise.
The curious side to her was peaking again, and she called out, Hello? When she received no reply, she chuffed in frustration and turned around, preparing to leave the area. A few steps into her departure, she was startled by a squeaking yelp that caught her ears. Looking around quickly, the white cub jumped back as a strange looking cub came tumbling over the boundary that separated the lionclan and the cheetahclan, landing in an awkward, sprawling mess at the feet of the white lion cub. Scampering back slightly, Addi trained her large, gray eyes on the cheetah cub, tilting her head, a startled look on her face. It was clear that she was unsure what to do. Should she just go about her way as if nothing had happened, or should she make sure the other cub wasn’t hurt? Should she go get an older lion for help? Taking a small step forward, she spoke quietly to the other cub, who hadn’t made an effort to get up after the fall, Oh, uh, you’re not a lion. Uhm, hi? Are you, are you okay?
She hoped the cheetah cub hadn’t injured herself too bad in the tumble she had taken into the lionclan.

She stared at the lion a moment, blinking, jaw slightly open in surprise. Obviously, she knew there were lions in lionclan territory, she wasn't stupid, but she'd never actually seen a lion before, and she just looked so different! It was only after a few moments of staring that she realized she hadn't yet answered the question and her ego came back in full force. She righted herself, closing her jaw and holding her head up high, proudly. Her ears perked toward the lion as she tried to make herself look far more important than she was.
Well, of course I'm alright! It takes a whole lot more than a tumble to put any cheetah out of commission!
She replied, haughty tone to her voice as her tail circled around her paws, tail tip twitching slightly. The hesitance about what to do from a few moments before disappeared in an instant, replaced with her normal confidence and general attitude. There was no fear, even though she was on another clan's territory without permission and facing one of their members. "Fear" was not usually a word in her vocabulary.

Mini hackles raised slightly in minor annoyance at the attitude of the other cub. Surely she was aware that she had crossed into another clan’s territory. Though, even though she was more than likely aware, there was nothing Addi could actually do about it. She was more of a healer than anything else. Sitting back on her haunches, she took a few moments to soak in the other’s presence before speaking, Oh. Well. I’m glad you’re alright. What were you doing so close to the borders anyways? I’m Adderpaw, by the way. Medicine cat apprentice. Who are you? It was evident that she was proud of the fact that she had been chosen to be the Medicine Cat’s apprentice by the way her head raised and her chest puffed out slightly with the announcement.
Addi gazed around briefly to ensure that none from the lionclan had wandered this far out into their lands. If a warrior caught the other cub here, there would surely be some type of repercussions on the white cub for not going to notify anyone about the ‘trespasser.’ Though, she was sure nothing would actually happen to the cheetah cub, considering she was basically still kit age. Sitting silently again, the little apprentice watched the other patiently. It seemed as though she bristled with energy, most of which was rampant and unconfined. It was nearly contagious, and the young white cub could feel her playful siding rising to the forefront the more she was around this cub.
Aren’t members from your clan going to be looking for you? Are you going to be in trouble for being in another territory? The wellbeing of the other was bothering Adderpaw. She hated seeing anyone getting in trouble, whether they were from her clan or another. There was something about this cub that she found intriguing, entertaining even, and she had a slight desire to befriend this peculiar little cheetah cub.

It paired with a quick tilt of her head, which was quickly righted, and a funny twinge of her lips. She was known for having the most foolish little mannerisms, rather like that one. It would make her a laughing stock if it wasn't for the fact she'd probably bite someone's ear off for laughing at her, and the clan knew it.
Was bored, and I haven't had a proper tour of the territory yet, so I thought I'd give myself one. I've already seen a bunch of it anyway. And I'm Ghostpaw. Y'know, cause my coat's grey for some reason. Or something like that.
She replied, haughty tone falling a bit, though the confidence still seeped into every word, along with that authoritative manner of thinking she could just give herself a tour rather than wait. It was something she was sure her mother, at least, had expected her to do, and probably more of the clan had as well. She'd always been the odd one out in that manner. She began to chuckle at Adderpaw's concern for her with the later questions, though.
Probably. But they'll probably just roll their eyes.
There was a small grin-like face with this one as she launched herself to a standing position with a forceful bound from her hindquarters that miraculously didn't send her skittering into the lion. She pranced to the other side of the boundary line with a carefree flounce to her step, tail swishing to an invisible beat behind her as her chin raised, moving as if she owned the place.
After all, it isn't the craziest thing I've done! I'm a famous terror!
She sounded so proud of it, too, and she crouched and leaped to catch a bug between her paws, bum wiggling a bit as it stuck straight up in the air. Then she turned her head with a little grin and another soft laugh, not a care in the world.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,498,true] | [atrb=background,http://i56.tinypic.com/xd5jfb.jpg][scrolly:h(276),w(165),sy] The nonchalance of the shrug didn’t really register well with the young cub. Tilting her head this way and that, she was astounded that the one called Ghostpaw didn’t seem to bothered by being in another clan’s territory. She sure does make some funny faces. As she watched the peculiar expressions spread across the cheetah cub’s face, a small smile crept onto her own maw. She hadn’t actually been around any cubs close to her age lately because she’d been so busy with the apprenticeship, and in all honesty, it felt kind of nice even if they weren’t in the same clan. When the other announced her boredom and her plan to give herself a tour, the white cub leapt to her paws, suddenly slightly alarmed, That’s not a good idea. What if a warrior caught you over here? Perhaps her worries were slightly misplaced, but it was clear that Ghostpaw wasn’t a kit, and Addi wasn’t so sure she would be spared due to the fact that she was an apprentice instead of a kit.
This new cub was something else, that was for sure. Something that the white lion cub wasn’t used to, but she wasn’t too tremendously bothered by it. She enjoyed it, to an extent. It was new and exciting, a change from the standard day in and day out routine of seeing the same faces every day, even though she enjoyed the monotony. As the gray cheetah cub leapt to her feet and skittered into her, Addi jumped, startled, her hackles raising slightly as she skittered aside. After she calmed down, she tilted her head again, watching curiously as the other cub flounced about the boundary and territory as if she owned the place.
Trailing closely behind, curiosity once again peaking, What do you mean, you’re a famous terror? The inquisitive questions would most likely not stop any time soon. She was intrigued, and she wanted to know just what Ghostpaw meant by the terror statement. As the little cheetah cub pounced the beetle that had been crawling harmlessly nearby, rear end raised, Addi’s too-large ears twitched slightly. Reaching out with a paw, she batted playfully at the other cub’s tail, a small tinkling laugh escaping from her vocals. If the other cub didn’t have a care in the world at this moment, then why shouldn’t she?

I tripped and fell and ended up there. I wasn't going to cross it on purpose! I'm not that crazy!
In other words, she knew she was crazy, but even she had her limits. At least, she had limits most days. There had been times when it had seemed like she didn't, and she was sure there probably were times when she truly didn't. Still, she didn't sound bothered at all by the fact she'd tripped and fell. Where most would be embarrassed, she accepted it as an unfortunate reality that couldn't be changed, so there was no point worrying over it.
She spun to face the lion cub again as the white creature spoke. There was an almost dangerous glitter to her eyes as her jaw dropped open into a grin. She chuckled as the cub batted at her tail, flicking it back and forth as if to tempt the lioness to chase it. It wasn't like she couldn't outrun the lion - she could already outrun most of her clan after all. The grin still played across her maw as she replied to the question.
The star question. I've been haunting the warriors for moons from the nursery. I escaped once weekly, each time to a new place. Though,I must say, the one I enjoyed the most had to be the antelope stampede - by starclan, you should have seen me run! I was flying, the antelope couldn't even keep up!

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,498,true] | [atrb=background,http://i56.tinypic.com/xd5jfb.jpg][scrolly:h(276),w(165),sy] The look on Addi’s face as the story of the antelope stampede reached her ears was nothing short of priceless. It was a look of stunned shock, with her jaw dropped slightly and her eyes wide, You ran from an antelope stampede? Then, she narrowed her eyes slightly. There was no way anyone, not even a cheetah with Ghost’s speed, could outrun a herd of stampeding antelope, No way. You’re lying. Nobody can outrun the antelope herd, especially when they’re on stampede. It was rather unheard of, and Addi didn’t believe the story one bit. Settling back on her haunches, she flicked the end of her tail idly. She had rather liked the story, though, even though she didn’t believe it.
She didn’t have any exciting stories to tell of her own. She’d always been a dedicated, and slightly cautious, cub. There were no signs of her ever sneaking off, or taunting antelopes or other creatures, not even other lions in the pride. Would today be the first day that she’d actually ‘sneak off,’ or would she just sit around and do the right thing? Staring at the other cub, she tilted her head slightly, watching the cheetah quietly.
The spark of curiosity was already burning in the back of her mind, a desire to break the rules just once. It couldn’t hurt, right? A little life experience never truly hurt anyone, for the most part. Rising to her paws, she pranced over to the peculiar little cheetah cub and lifted her head high, puffing out her chest slightly. So are you going to get into any type of mischief today? The glint in her eyes would surely be a tell-tale sign that she was interested, and willing, to tag along to help perform a bit of trouble.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i51.tinypic.com/2zdu45l.jpg][scrolly:h(186),w(429),sy] Au contraire, my friend. There's a reason we cheetahs don't need to pick off only the old or injured. We are faster, at least about, oh... Here to that there tree off in the distance.
Her tail and glance flicked towards the tree, a good five hundred meters away or so. Within that space, she knew she was right. If any cheetah actually ran that long, it would require a good long break immediately afterward, of course, but still. It was possible, and had been done. She could demonstrate now if she wanted, it wouldn't take much. Just aim, and run until her muscles burned like fire and her lungs felt like they were caving in. It was such a unique feeling, one that she actually rather enjoyed, probably because of the rush of pure adrenaline that accompanied it. Her ears perked up at that thought. She might not be asked to demonstrate, but she was beginning to think she might anyway. Just for that rush. It was a rather wonderful, exhilarating feeling.
But then came the distraction, the question posed to her that made her stop for a moment and just look at the young lioness. She hadn't pegged Adderpaw to be the type to play along with her antics, yet here she was, looking ready to participate. The thrill of the possibilities began to thrum through the young cheetah's bones as her mind whipped through a bunch of possibilities and she almost felt like she was vibrating, though whether she actually was or not she didn't know, nor did she actually care.
Well.....
She dragged the word on a moment, then situated a relatively lengthy pause afterwards to hold the suspense. Though, she'd never been one for waiting. Her mind worked too fast, as did her body. Patience was simply not something the cheetess had any sort of measure of. So, after a short pause which seemed like an eternity, enough time for a devilish grin to spread across her face, she finally continued.
I've always wanted to know what it's like outside clan boundaries, in the rogue territories.
