Clan cats have a specific naming system. There is always a first half and a last half. The first half is something simple; usually something natural, such as a color, an animal or a plant. For example, "blue-", "spider-", "flower-" or "dove-". The first part never changes throughout the cat's life.
The last portion will change throughout the cat's life. While they are kits, they use the suffix "-kit". While they are apprentices (regular or medicine cat), they use the suffix "-paw". Warriors and medicine cats have various suffixes. They tend to be something that relates the first half to the cat, or something that fits the cat, such as "-claw", "-heart", "-flight" and "-nose". Deputies, elders and queens keep their warrior or medicine cat name. Leaders have names that end in "-star".
examples... Shadowstar (leader) Marshkit (kit) Stonepaw (apprentice or medicine cat apprentice) Orangefur (medicine cat, warrior, elder, deputy or queen)

*No two cats in the same clan may have the same prefix as a name. Next to each prefix is the clan in which each prefix is being used. If you want to use the prefix "Blue" but it is already being used in all four clans by living characters, you may not use it. StarClan and NightClan are not subject to this rule.
