leaders...
Leaders, obviously, lead their clan. They have been gifted with nine lives by starclan. They are the cats who call clan meetings, appoint the deputy, lead the ceremonies for any transition of position within the clan, decide clan policy and much more. Their names end in "star". The leader goes to every gathering unless they are sick. At the gatherings, the leaders all share updates about their clan, such as new kits, apprentices or warriors. Besides medicine cats, they are usually the only other clan members to get dreams from starclan. deputies...
The deputy of a clan is chosen by leader to help with the leading of the clan. Deputies organize patrol groups for hunting and checking the borders. If the leader is sick, the deputy fills in at the gathering. If the leader dies, the deputy becomes the new leader. If the deputy dies or retires, a new deputy must be appointed by moonhigh. The deputies always go to the gatherings. medicine cats...
The medicine cats care for the health of their clan. They learn the uses and places of herbs and they have their own den amongst the clan members. They learn basic fighting and hunting techniques just in case, however they do not undergo extreme training in these areas. They must eventually take an apprentice, but this is not necessary unless there is an appropriate candidate or they are getting old. They get together with the other medicine cats at the half-moon point after the gathering, and they go to the starcavern to visit with starclan. They are the most likely to receive dreams and signs from starclan. medicine cat apprentices...
There is only ever one medicine cat apprentice at a time, and there can be none. They train under the current medicine cat and learn how to interpret signs and dreams from starclan as well as the intricacies of medicines and illnesses. Once they receive their full name, they have full medicine cat duties. warriors...
Warriors are the basis for any clan. They work to hunt prey for the clan, participate in border patrols, and fight when necessary to protect their territory and clanmates. Most will take on at least one apprentice in their lifetime. The senior warriors are the older, more respected warriors and sometimes they are asked for their opinion by the leader or deputy. queens...
Queens are female warriors who are pregnant and relatively close to kitting or who are currently nursing. Once their kits have been made apprentices, they are free to return to their duties. apprentices...
Apprentices are young cats between six moons and twelve moons. They have a warrior mentor, sometimes the deputy or leader, and they are training in hunting and fighting. They are often put on hunting or border patrols to assist the warriors and to see how things are done. They are not usually allowed to eat until they have hunted to feed the clan, though they may if the they have been given permission. elders...
Elders are the cats of the clan who have retired. They have no duties and they, along with kits and queens, must be fed first. They share their stories and knowledge with the rest of the clan in order to educate and, in some cases, entertain. kits...
Kits are the youngest members of the clan. They are younger than six moons and live in the nursery with their mothers. If they are the kits of the medicine cat or if their mother is dead or cannot give milk for whatever reason, then they are nursed by the other queens in the nursery. When they are six moons old they are made apprentices, where they begin to contribute to their clan. rogues and loners...
Rogues and loners are not clan cats. They live outside clan territory and can live alone or in groups. Rogues tend to move around more and be more prone to being hostile. Loners are more passive and tend to stick to one area.
