WHERE THE DAY FLOWS, ONLY TIME
AND WHO CAN SAY IF YOUR LOVE GROWS
AS YOUR HEART CHOSE, ONLY TIME

name...goldenkit//goldenpaw//goldenlight//goldenstar
age...one hundred eighty moons
gender...female
clan...tigerclan
position...medicine cat
species...bengal tiger
apperance...In her prime, Goldenlight was a sight to be seen. Genetics chose the golden tabby coloration for her so that, though she was neither excessively tall nor small, she stood out in the clan. Thankfully, this standing out was not a bad one. She was beautiful in her youth with ginger stripes decorating a lightly golden coat that faded to white at her belly and legs. Through the moons, her golden pelt has faded, the white creeping further up her legs and coloring more of her pelt. Still the lightest of golds still kisses her pelt and her stripes can still be seen lurking in fur that was once sleek but is now longer and more ruffled with age. Her eyes, at one time a cunning sharp light blue are now a misty sort of blue that comes only with age. Her eyesight is as keen as ever however, much to the dismay of disobedient little ones and slacking apprentices but much to the thanks of the clan. Though Goldenlight was never particularly outstanding in height aging has not made her small and frail, at least not yet. She remins a sturdy tigress with many moons still before her and a quiet strength and wisdom evident in every motion and flicker of her pale eyes.
personality...Goldenlight is often described as a very placid individual. Her patience seeming everlsating and the kindness and compassion in her soul just as unending. Goldenlight values all life, whether TigerClan, rogue, loner or some other clan. This is the one thing Goldenlight will fight fiercely for, to protect life, no matter who's it is. No one's life is forfeit for this elderly she-cat and above all else it is this value for life that she strives to teach her successor, whoever it may be. Apart from her value of life however, Goldenlight is a quiet and docile she-cat. She attends her herbs with the diligence of a cat much younger and keeps her watchful pale eyes on everyone in the clan. At the first hint of a cough or an injury, she's there with the proper supplies, treating them with a level of skill that only time can teach. Young kits and apprentices are often seen shadowing Goldenlight because she is a well loved figure in TigerClan. To even young warriors, she's a constant, the one thing that has always been there. Few can remember a time when she wasn't the medicine cat and in a way she has become the grandmother of every cat in TigerClan. She accepts them for their faults, their tempers and their petty squabbles. Goldenlight loves each one of them, thinking of them as the kits she was forbidden to have which is why she seldom goes alone to gather herbs and her den is often the resting place of apprentices, warriors and weary queens alike. She'll talk and tell stories while sorting her herbs, filling her little clearing with a warmth that cats constantly seek her out for. No one can remember the last time Goldenlight raised her voice, much less the last time she had to. Though she seldom speaks harshly or loudly, she never needs to. Her words carry weight in the clan and are often heeded by even the most thick-headed of warriors. A deep founded respect surrounds Goldenlight for her quiet ways and general deep love of TigerClan parallel only by her profound connection to StarClan.
history...Goldenlight has brought more kits into the world, sorted more herbs and dreamed more than any cat in TigerClan but every cat has a modest beginning. For Goldenlight, her story begins with Palestripe and Redpelt, two relatively modest average warriors of TigerClan. She was dubbed Goldenkit since she was the only kit in the litter of five that inherited Palestripe's golden tabby coloring. Her brothers were named Blackkit and Firekit while her sisters were named Honeykit and Poppykit. As they grew it was obvious that Goldenkit wasn't cut out for a warrior's life. She spent her days keeping the piece between her fiercer siblings and sitting in the sun watching the trees or snooping around the medicine cat's den listening to Cinderfall as he sorted his supplies. When six moons rolled around, Goldenpaw went under Cinderfall's care while her siblings became warrior apprentices.
For many moons, Goldenpaw lived in Cinderfall's shadow, breathing in the information he had and savoring it. She loved learning and loved learning how to save lives. After her first trip to dream with StarClan, her siblings all noted a difference in her. A sort of peace settled over Goldenpaw, one she hadn't always had as a kit. She had always felt out of place because she didn't like their rough games but now she walked with a quiet dignity through camp and seemed totally at ease with herself. For a while, everything seemed perfect until whitecough struck the camp. At 12 moons old, Goldenpaw waded through a sea of ill and dying cats, scrambling for herbs and laying beside ill cats to try and offer comfort. Her brothers Blackpaw and Firepaw fell ill and in days Blackpaw died. Just after Blackpaw's death, Cinderfall fell ill from exhaustion and being around the illness so much. Desperate and afraid, Goldenpaw kept up her vendetta against the illness, praying for a miracle. The herbs were running out and with each day more of her clanmates fell ill. The leader, Whitestar, even fell ill and lost a life. Goldenpaw cared for and buried more tigers than she had ever wanted to that winter. The other clans sneered and shook their heads, insisting it was a sign from StarClan that TigerClan had done something wrong and needed punished. With each passing day, Goldenpaw got more and more desperate. Other medicine cats tried to help but were afraid to carry the disease to their clans and were stingy about offering herbs, afraid of an outbreak in their clan and not having enough supplies.
At last, with springtime came the end of the plague. The clan was in shambles. Warriors were weak and barely recovering. The clan was almost half its previous size. Whitestar lost one life and nearly lost another, the clan deputy died and only two elders survived. Goldenpaw lost her mentor, her father, her brothers and Poppypaw to the epidemic but had been unable to receive her medicine cat name right away due to so many cats being chronically ill. Nearly a moon after her mentor's passing, at seventeen moons, Goldenpaw finally made the trek to earn her name. In her dream, Cinderfall praised his apprentice for her unwavering faith that StarClan had not forsaken TigerClan and for endlessly seeking StarClan's help through the outbreak. He claimed she would be a light to bless TigerClan and guide them to keeping faith in all times of illness, war and death. When she awoke, she was no longer Goldenpaw. She was Goldenlight.
Since that night, Goldenlight has served TigerClan with unwavering faith. When war and famine and illness knocked on the door of the clan, Goldenlight faced it without fear. She's tended more greencough and buried more clanmates than she ever would have liked but Goldenlight knows it is her place. She aims to be a pillar for the clan, a guiding light the way her mentor long ago told her she would be. StarClan never forsakes a clan. Ever. That single faith has allowed Goldenlight to see her way through even the blackest of days and reassure herself that everything has a reason. Through her career as a medicine cat, Goldenlight has been at the birthing of most of its current warriors and has taken three apprentices. Her first apprentice, Coalpaw, was taken when she was twenty five moons old. He found that StarClan was not his true calling and returned to being a warrior apprentice. Goldenlight assisted his mate when she birthed her kits many moons later. Her second apprentice was a lovely young Maltese tigress named Bluepaw when Goldenlight was roughly forty moons. Bluepaw was caught up in a greencough outbreak that swept through all the clans. She is the one Goldenlight regrets the most, her faith was strong and she was an easily lovable young she-cat. The last apprentice Goldenlight took was another she-cat named Frostpaw when she was nearing her forty-ninth moon. Frostpaw also found a medicine cat's life not to her liking and later Goldenlight also ushered Frostflower's kits into the world. Goldenlight has yet to find her successor but is patiently awaiting the right cat to step forward and until then, fully intends to continue caring for every cat in her care.
