THIS IS MY SNOW COVERED HOME
name...bluekit--bluepaw-- bluefrost --bluestar
age...twenty moons
gender...male
clan...leopardclan
position...warrior
species...snow leopard
apperance...There are two main reasons for Bluefrost's name to be so fitting for him. The first and perhaps most obvious is the clear, intense blue shade of his eyes. Not a lot of leopards keep their blue eyes past kithood and the fact that Bluefrost did was considered rather unique. The second reason for Bluefrost's name is that his coat isn't colored exactly like other snow leopards' pelts. Instead of being just the staight ashy silver of most snow leopard pelts, Bluefrost's pelt has a very slight blue cast to it. The overall effect is as though he had been 'frosted' with blue to make him a blue-gray. Aside from his tinted pelt, Bluefrost has the standard black rosettes of leopards splotching his pelt in a scattered, haphazard pattern. His tail is thick and fluffy, tipped with black as well. Around the rims of his ears, the fur is also black. Along his underbelly, the insides of his legs, his paws, chest and the underside of his muzzle, the blue-gray fur fades out to a snowy dense white.
personality...Bluefrost is an all around nice guy, something established since he was in the nursery. He has a natural charm that makes others like him, an easy smile and way of making it seem like everything will be alright in the end. He's a companionable sort of leopard, one that will laze about if he has the chance but isn't afraid to do crazy things. He'll work himself to the bone to make sure every cat is fed at the end of the day and has no problem standing up for the little guy. He loves apprentices, though he has yet to have one and adores kits. His friendly nature extends to all kinds of cats, not just leopards. Gatherings are particular favorite for the sociable tom. Don't think that just because he's friendly, Bluefrost is incapable of other emotions, oh no. He doesn't like everyone, he just gives them a chance to prove themselves before condeming them. If you wrong him or hurt someone he cares for, Bluefrost can be a bitter enemy. He'll give you one chance to explain yourself before shutting you out for good. Bluefrost is an easy cat to love simply because he knows how to goof off and be fun but can turn and be serious when he has to be. Around his brother, Grayhawk, Bluefrost is a total goofball more often than not. The two of them can make all sorts of mischief and will often go off to find adventure or they'll turn patrol into a game to make the time go by faster.
history...Bluekit was born with only one brother and one sister named Graykit and Silverkit respectively. His parents were Dewdrop and Eagleswoop, two relatively young warriors that were delighted to be bringing their first litter of kits into the world. Laid out next to his siblings to be named, it was obvious Bluekit didn't look quite like them. His pelt was more blue-gray while Graykit's was darker and Silverkit's was lighter. Of course, some warriors hassled his parents about being uncreative with their names but it was all in good fun without any real malice. Bluekit grew up relatively normal. He played the days away with his siblings, watched in awe as apprentices practiced and badgered their father for stories whenever Eagleswoop approached the nursery. Of the three, Bluekit was the more bold. He liked to ask questions and wasn't afraid to do so. His quieter siblings were often awestruck by the warriors and were too afraid to ask for stories or answers but Bluekit never hesitated. In that way, he earned a bit of affection from the warriors that frequented the nursery in the form of smiles and indulgent purrs.
When it came time for the three kits to become apprentices, Bluekit was nearly as well known around camp as some of the more popular apprentices. He didn't let it go to his head though. He stuck by his siblings, giving them encouraging smiles when needed and shielding them from teasing. When he was given to an older tom named Cloudstep, Bluepaw was extatic. Through their apprenticeship, Bluepaw, Silverpaw and Graypaw remained as thick as thieves. Popularity suited Bluepaw well and before long he was on speaking terms with almost everyone in the clan. Graypaw, feeding off of his brother's exuberance, gradually came more and more out of his shell until he and Bluepaw were well known troublemakers and one was seldom seen without the other close at paw. Silverpaw remained withdrawn and skittish, too shy to talk to those her own age and intimidated by older warriors. Bluepaw and Graypaw were forever trying to nudge Silverpaw forward into being more of a social butterfly, much the way Bluepaw had helped Graypaw but it never stuck.
The leafbare of their apprenticeship was when tragedy struck. Greencough swept through LeopardClan and little Silverpaw fell to the disease. Bluepaw also became ill that winter but recovered under the watchful eye of the clan medicine cat. Not long after he recovered, the clan was roused in the early hours before dawn in the midst of one of the worst snowstorms LeopardClan had ever known by a frantic nursery queen named Flutterheart in search of her missing kits. Two kits nearing apprentice age named Minnowkit and Pebblekit had gone missing. Understandably Flutterheart was desperate to find them. Minnowkit was a normal, healthy she-kit but Pebblekit was the smaller of the two and mute. The leader was wary of sending warriors into the snowstorm but in the end, relented. The kits were his daughters.
Bluepaw and Graypw were seperated into different patrols and in the end, even the patrols got sepereted from one another. Bluepaw ended up alone, wading through snow deeper than he was tall, barely able to see a thing. It was purely by chance that Bluepaw heard the sound of kits mewling in fright. By the time he found them, Pebblekit was still and silent as ever and Minnowkit could barely make a sound. Thoroughly lost in the snowdrifts, Bluepaw did the only thing he could. He dug a hole into the snow and curled up around the kits inside of it, using his bigger size and thicker fur to try and warm the little ones. Around dawn, the blizzard subsided and Bluepaw was discovered by Graypaw's patrol consisting of two other warriors named Windrush and the clan leader, Stonestar. The kits were alive and under the care of the medicine cat, recovered.
Stonestar called Graypaw and Bluepaw to be named apprentices that afternoon. Graypaw became Grayhawk and Bluepaw became Bluefrost for the layer of ice and snow he'd been found under.
