She was within a tail-length of the Leopardclan border, her favorite hunting spot. Not hunting for food, mind you - oh no, something completely different was on her mind. And she knew this clan far too well; it was mid-sunhigh, a time when no patrol would be by, though she might catch sight of a lone clan cat or two, hopefully male. Oh, that would just make her day.
Perhaps it was cruel, to look for another victim so soon, when she had just broken one into pieces the day before, but she was terribly bored and the heat made her irritable. An irritable Amore was one who looked for something to make her happy again - and the games always made her happy. Or, at least, kept her distracted from things that made her unhappy. It was generally good enough. With a huff, she leaped off to continue on, find somewhere more comfortable to wait for her "prey" to come along.
It wasn't far until she found a nice rock directly in a stream of sunlight. Although she hated the stifling heat of the air, which made it tough to breath on the really bad days, the warmth from the suns rays didn't bother her in the slightest, and she loved that warmth. It was like the warmth from lying next to another being, something that radiated and soaked in instead of smothered. It was beautiful and wonderful and the loose feeling her muscles had afterwards was just amazing. She crawled up to lay across it, sprawling comfortably, head laying down to rest on her paws, purr emanating from her chest a moment as the sun's heat sunk in.
Now this, this was the life.

Of course, he was an apprentice so he was allowed to leave camp, unlike the kits below the ages of six moons. Yet, it was usually advised against cubs to leave the safety of the other and larger warriors without their mentor. Yeah- even when he was some moons younger, this apprentice truly didn't stick to that sort-of-rule. Rule following? That's kit-play. Rules were boring and nothing got done with them in place.
Of course, Shellpaw was loyal to his clan- they had helped him when he'd been found with memory-loss after all. So far, he really liked most of them. Sure, it'd been hard for some of the leopards to accept him- with him not being clanborn and all that. But he understood where they came from... not that he liked that fact. And that was the only thing having him wonder about his place in the clan.
But for now- he was content, learning battle moves, learning how to hunt, and to even take care of other leopards. Surely he did not like caring for the elders, getting rid of their ticks, hearing their clan-fantasy tales, replacing their yucky bedding... but all that lead to the patience and everything to be a good fighter! And Shellpaw, despite being fairly young, knew that it all lead to a bigger picture. That didn't mean he didn't like skirting out on his apprentice responsibilities though...
So here he was, doing just that.
And in a few more mere pawsteps, he caught the scent of a cat that he did not recognize from the other clans or his own. This cat- he did not know what kind or gender, but he knew that s/he was close to the clan border. Too close for his comfort! And this hero would take care of that surely!
Bounding to the edge of the clan territory, tail up and fluffed out, as well as the rest of his coat, the blue eyes of Shellpaw scanned the area for the almost-intruder.
"This is Leopardclan Territory! You better stay away!" he announced, puffing his chest out with a cocky little smirk on his face.
----- I like to keep things honest, Three Hundred Seventy Seven I'm a safe bet like your life's staked on it, XP Shellpaw is obnoxious. XD I'd hate to keep you all wondering, Amore Keep your hopes up high and your head down low, Preliator by Globus

Whoever was coming, they were definitely not concerned about being quiet. She wouldn't be surprised if they chased off the prey in two hours walk in any direction. She rolled her eyes as it got closer, from inside the clan border. Go figure. They claimed to be good at this sort of thing, but really, in all fairness, they weren't. At all. If that was what they thought subtlety was, they were beyond help.
Bored eyes didn't even look over at first, even as the bounding stopped a tail length shy of her resting point. She chuckled softly, rolling her eyes - or, half rolling them. They stopped as soon as they caught him in their sites. And, for a moment, she froze. It couldn't be, and yet, it was. The silly little leopard who'd run from her a few moons ago; the same one she'd shown mercy to and dragged to help.
Well, that just turned the day to shit.
Still, she covered it up with a smile, pulling herself to a standing position and then slinking down the rock and through the undergrowth to the very edge of the border, paw hovering just shy of crossing. A grin flickered in her eyes, taunting and teasing, but not cruel, just amused. An innocent sort of amusement, though she herself was far from innocent.
And what, dear leopard, would you do if I did cross it?
Her voice was sugary sweet, like honey dripping from a beehive. Yet, she didn't overdo it - it wasn't laid on so thick so as to make it seem unreal, unnatural. No, of course not. Instead, it was simply like a curious little creature, testing boundaries, just to see if there was really punishment or if it was nothing more than a bluff.
