IT'S COLD, SO WHY AREN'T THE EMBERS FALLING FROM THE STARS?

apperance...sparrowstar is a gorgeous example of a sumatran tiger- not a very common breed of tiger. her fur holds the color of a setting sun, dark but bright, appeasing to the eyes to say the least. usually an overwhelming color, the dark almost brown tint to it brings the orange to a much deeper color, coated with a layer of black stripes that wrap around her body like snakes. while most of her dark stripes coat her back and around her sides, a lot break up down her legs, and many litter her face in a beautiful array of abstract designs. white accents lick sparrow's toes, ears, and face, while her pink nose seems to bring everything together. golden, honey colored eyes set deep on her face seem to pierce everything she glances upon. most of this leader's fur is short, though thick, yet the fur around her face puffs out almost like a lion's mane, giving her an oddly 'crazy' appearance.
personality...sparrowstar is not the best example of a confident leader out there. she's often unsure of herself and her place as leader of tigerclan. though starclan has given her nine lives, the thought that their star-furred ancestors would accept a tiger such as herself shocks her. still awkward during clan meetings and gatherings, sparrow struggles to feel comfortable as the one addressing a clan full of tigers that she used to be just like, as well as three other clans. now she's a great leader despite all this responsibility, but it can get a bit overwhelming for her.
sparrowstar is not extraordinarily timid, but she finds herself nervous when telling her clanmates what to do, and having her deputy form hunting and border patrols. being a warrior not too long ago, and a simple deputy not too long after that, she doesn't feel like she has the stance to order anyone around just yet- feeling as if she is still 'on their level'. this beautiful leader tends to go to goldenlight, her medicine cat for many things, and this is to no surprise, due to the fact goldenlight is not only a friend of the tigerclan leader, but almost like a mother-figure.
aside from the whole leader ordeal, this tiger is a gentle soul to say the least. she doesn't like fighting all that much, and most tigerclan members- when she was young believed she would become a medicine cat. but that wasn't what she aimed for. she hadn't really aimed for anything, just a plain old warrior. the thought of being 'special' in the clan doesn't sit well with her, not one that likes that much attention.
sparrowstar loves kits, and wonders if she'll be able to have some one day, despite being the leader she hadn't quite wanted to be. she treats all of the clan members fairly, though struggles to be strict when she needs to be. she is often talking with clan leaders in an attempt to prevent battles more than fighting them out, and tries to be as generous as possible.
overall, this leader is a little timid, not very confident, but eager to prove herself a good leader, though she never wanted to be one.
history...sparrowstar was born as a simple young tigress, calm and sweet, with the name of sparrowkit. she and her larger brother, brackenkit, who was everything to her, were born in the warming days of leaf bare. they had opposite reflections on the life of a cat in a clan- sparrowkit the more gentle side, brackenkit the harsher side. he aimed to be the highest of the cats, to rule over the other clans in addition to tigerclan. he wanted to be seen as a 'god'. not that sparrowkit had had any idea what that was. of course, every warrior imagined that he was just an over exuberant kit...
as brackenkit became brackenpaw, his harsh attitude and impossible eagerness pushed sparrowkit, now sparrowpaw, into a shell. any dreams she had had as a kit vanished in mere moons, as her brother continued to strive for the top. she became more timid and shy, while he pushed his beliefs upon anyone who would listen.
it was only when their first battle came, did brackenpaw show his true self. tigerclan was battling leopardclan, and despite the warrior code stating that "an honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his/her battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense," brackenpaw killed three other apprentices that night. he only delivered a killing blow to one, the others dying from the immense injuries he'd caused them.
only then, did the clan realize the real danger of sparrow's brother. they only hoped that him being a warrior would calm his ambitions a little. and it did- everything was quiet for the next few moons, sparrowflight now growing close to brackenpelt once more.
but it was within that time span that brackenpelt began to despise his own sister. she got her own apprentice before him. and when the deputy retired- she got the place- even though she was younger, more timid, and not cut out in his opinion. it was the night that sparrowflight became sparrowstar due to the untimely death of the clan leader due to greencough, that brackenpelt disappeared from the camp. he was found, crushed beneath a tree a moon later.
starclan had spoken, and sparrowstar had wiped her mind of her brother and decided to try and be a good clan leader- though she still feels incapable and not good enough.
