LYRICS/SAYING HERE, ALL CAPS PLEASE
name...Rowangaze
age...24 moons
gender...male
clan...Leopardclan
position...warrior
species...Amur Leopard
apperance...Rowangaze isn't spectacular but, then again, he's not anything to be taken lightly either. At the shoulder he measures in at around 22 inches tall, about the height of some wolves. His tail is probably abnormally long, 43 inches, for his subspecies at least. He weighs nearly 101 pounds but would probably be heavier where he not predisposed to being so slim. Most of Rowangaze's size comes from his thick fur. Underneath it, he has a small, lithe, almost feminine frame, he doesn't feel, is good for much of anything. His tail is noticeably longer proportionate to his figure and is capped with a bit of white. He has a broad, triangularly shaped head but his most defining feature would be his eyes. They're a deep orange the shade of a rowan berry. Most Amur Leopards have pale blue or gold eyes but his are an oddity that he quite likes.
Rowangaze supposes he is an attractive male. His coat is deep and rich in color. In the summer it's a vivid golden orange, the rosette in his pelt seem darker and thicker and the white of his underbelly yielding a yellowish tint. It's during the summer that he seems his smallest because his coat is considerably shorter and thinner due to the weather. In the winter, his coat lightens up. He takes on a pale yellowish-orange hue, the fur outlining his underside and paws shifting to a white as pristine as the snow. Year round, his fur is always thick as it's the tendency of his subspecies. Everything else seems to be within the normal range of this. His nose is pink, his whiskers long and white and his rosettes round, fully closed circles with a darkened center.
personality...Rowan is a curious little kitty. He seems to have mood swings or something, acting out of character sometimes. With Rowangaze, there's the cat that he wants to be and the cat that he actually is. He goes through many painstaking measures to ensure that he appears 'cool' to his clan mates but every once in a while, the real Rowan will shine through.
Rowan's father was a commando if there ever was one. He was a warrior , through and through, completely dedicated to his clan. Many thought that he would become deputy and then, one day, leader but, this never came to pass. The old leopard harbored no resent, in fact, he admitted once that he might not have been able to handle the pressure. At any rate, he was chiefly concerned with the betterment of the clan, fun coming after eventually. When Rowan was born, it was only nature that the father try and mold his son into what he believed was to be the perfect warrior. Rowan, to this day, takes his fathers teachings to heart and tries to pass himself off as a stone cold soldier. Often times, you see him by himself. He doesn't pose an aversion to company but he feels a hint of mystery is what makes a good cat. Sure he's driven but if there's no pressing matter, he lazes about in the shade of trees or by water. He lives for battle, but not needlessly. No matter what, he would never seriously fight another of his clan unless they had committed some sort of transgression. He trains by himself or with the few close friends he does have and seems to do nothing else except maybe sleep.
Rowangaze seems extremely concerned with the going ons of his clan but really, he is carefree. Most times, he's apathetic. He could not care about many things. He is always calm, almost to the point of being emotionless, but can suddenly come to life with a sarcastic witty humor. He has a soft spot for cubs and only looks forward to the day when he gets his own apprentice toplaytrain with. He also shows a weakness for women. He doesn't really differentiate between the ones that are within his reach and then totally out of his league. Flattery rolls off his tongue in the prescience of the a female, whether or not she's trying to kill him. Unfortunate, yes, but that's one of the few things that can blind him.
Rowangaze is not ambitious. He does not aim for something or have any goals. He figures that if he just keeps doing what he's doing, eventually someone will notice how consistent and stable he is. His father was like this aswell and he tried quite hard to instill a spirit of ambition in his son however Rowan is in no hurry to prove himself. One thing he has learned is that sometimes, an overambitious cat can lead himself into harm.
All around, Rowan is not bad company. He won't start conversation but, if you initiate it, it's like he won't stop talking. Look into his eyes and you can see the calm, gently burning flame of his soul. Throw him into the midst of a fight you can see something like a torrent of rage and determination. Whatever those half lidded eyes tell you, bet that it's something worthwhile.
history...A boring history produces a boring person. A torrent history produces a violent cat. A loving history produces a gentle cat. Rowan's back story is a combination of all three only light on the torrent side. Rowangaze is normal, completely. If you asked him to tell you a story from his life, he would not know what to tell you.
Rowan was the first son of his parents. His father had finally settled down enough to start a life with the cat he fell for. They were an odd couple. both very much of the same personality, they were not the most affectionate. However, they were connected by something unseen albiet strong. It came as a surprise to a lot when Rowan's mother became a queen.
Rowan was born in the spring, along with a lot of other apprentices. His father insisted his son be trained under him and him alone. He had plans for the boy, to mold him into ,what his years had taught was, a good warrior. from then on, until his training was complete, Rowangaze's life became about bettering himself. He had to be smart, agile, fast, strong. Rowan whatever weakness he did have, he trained his strengths all that much harder. It became a way of life and, for a bit, the only thing he knew.
Luckily, on off times, he had his mother to counter things. Rowan's mother was a she cat that was stoic to most everyone else but she adored Rowan. Rowangaze knew his mother as no one else could have and so was often complexed when she was called serious. A warrior herself, she instilled the principle of fighting for a purpose within his young mind. Fighting for the sake of the thrill, not matter under what conditions, was nothing to be proud about because victory was then meaningless.
His proudest day was when he became a warrior. It was torture that he had to go through a silent vigil because the last thing he wanted to be was that. He dutifully carried it out though and is now serving his clan proudly. He has a slight mischievous side and does sometimes get in trouble for his taunting but he is sincere in his purpose of being a warrior. He doesn't take it lightly but then , unlike his father, there does have to be a balance between work and play. His parents had since then died but this did not dampen the male's spirit. As they watch him, he looks forward to the future and whatever it may hold in store.
