Our setting is Austin, Texas. Live Music Capital of the World. There's a drama club here, a group of kids aged eleven to seventeen years old who are united by their love of acting, and their wish to pursue a career in either theatre or film. On the surface, they appear nice and helpful, kind people who're destinied for greatness. But one who delves deeper could get the surprise of their life.

They've got many problems with drugs and alcohol, getting addicted so they'll be taken down in their prime. Sexually precocious, they sleep around even though they're still young, some getting pregnant while still children themselves. There's a tangled system of relationships, enveloping even the youngest dramatics. While you could make a friend forever, you could also make a terrible enemy,
We've always been more than just good friends, but you know we've never been an item,
And when he hurts you, girl, come around here to spite him.
The drama club's hours are long, and even after it ends for the day, it's hard for them to escape each other. Perhaps they're just teens being chaotic teens. But though the parents say that one day they'll look back and laugh, many of them probably won't survive long enough to do so.
I don't know everything, but I've heard all the rumours in town-
There's trouble in paradise, your heart is gonna pay the price.
