::Winter's Angel:: Sitting alone on a park bench In agony and fiery pain Pitch black darkness covering every inch of the sky While whiteness swirls through the cold night air All the delicate and powdery flakes Blur my vision almost completely I try to glance around To look for something And out of the corner of my eye I catch something Some dark shape in the distance I try to get off the bench And get a closer look And even to run away I am willing my body to move But I can’t All the pain is making my limps unresponsive And it’s as if my body is frozen in time The shape starts to move closer Taking minute steps through the blanket of snow All the snow in the air parts around it Just as the Red Sea did for Mose My vision then clears And, at first I think my eyes have betrayed me For I think I see an angel Standing right before me She is a fair and gentle looking maiden With skin that looks so soft and pale Rosy cheeks and kind brown eyes She walks up to me Her long, pure, white gown flowing Around her ankles and bare feet And wraps me in her snowy white wings She whispers softly in my ear "Come with me, You’re safe now" I wrote this for my boyfriend, some what from his point of view. All I can say is that this is one of my best poems, or at least that's what I think.
